Job summary

Schaefer Plastics in Charlotte, NC is hiring a Material Handler (Plastics Manufacturing) to support safe, efficient production. You will supply machines with raw materials, coordinate material changes, move finished goods and scrap, and perform basic quality checks.

The role requires lifting up to 35 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds, with potential 12-hour shifts. We value dependability, teamwork, and accuracy in documentation.

Qualifications

• Prior material-handling experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with resin/regrind/injection-molding materials preferred.
• Able to obtain and maintain a Schaefer Plastics forklift license.
• Able to read and follow work orders, BOMs, production tickets, safety rules, and procedures.
• Strong math skills and basic problem-solving abilities.
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift safely and complete daily equipment inspections.
• Stage raw materials and verify items match work orders and BOMs.
• Maintain material levels at production equipment to prevent interruptions.
• Prepare machines for changeovers and coordinate material and color changes.
• Perform routine quality checks and adjust equipment as trained.
• Move finished products to staging areas and shrink-wrap pallets as needed.
• Follow ticket procedures and provide coverage for other shifts when required.
• Provide training support for new employees and assist production as needed.
