Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Delaware & Delaware County, Inc. seeks a warehouse associate to organize, sort, and redistribute donated merchandise, ensuring a safe, clean work environment and supporting transportation when licensed.

You will operate forklift or bale machinery, sort textiles from hard goods, stock merchandise on the sales floor, load trucks, and maintain neat, collaborative work areas with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, with 1–3 months related experience or training.

Responsibilities

Job description

POSITION PURPOSE:

To organize, sort and redistribute all incoming merchandise to ensure safe and clean working environment using machinery as necessary. May also serve as back-up to Transportation if holding current drivers license and maintaining clean driving record.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

1. Follow safety policies and procedures ensuring maximum safety, security, and protection of all customers and company assets.
2. Responsible to fulfill and assist with all production and donation functions.
3. Certified Forklift operator or Certified to operate Bale/Recycling Machinery.
4. Perform baling functions such as operations of equipment designated to create bales, stack bales, and load bales on truck.
5. Ability to sort textile from hard goods and miscellaneous items, distinguish between quality merchandise and recyclable commodities and trash, maintain continuous flow of materials to achieve production goals, price merchandise according to company guidelines, and stock merchandise by classification on the sales floor.
6. Perform housekeeping functions that ensure that workstation, production and/or donation area, and sales floor are kept neat, clean, and organized.
7. Ensure maximum customer satisfaction. Work cooperatively with all consumers, community groups, co-workers, and subordinates to promote the achievement of the company mission.
8. Assist with loading and unloading trucks, using proper techniques and equipment to prevent any damage when handling the merchandise.
9. Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
10. Attend meetings, training sessions and committee\team activities as required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred, along with a minimum of 1-3 months related experience and/or training.
