Job summary

Mill Creek Lumber and Supply Company is seeking a dedicated Materials Handler for our Jones, OK location. This full-time role supports warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and on-time order fulfillment on the 1st shift.

Responsibilities include receiving and unloading materials, updating the inventory in our warehouse system, picking and packing customer orders, and safely operating forklifts and related equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior warehouse or materials handling experience preferred.
• Forklift certification and operation experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Teamwork and effective communication.
• Basic computer skills for inventory records.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and unload incoming materials following procedures and safety guidelines.
• Record and update inventory levels in the warehouse management system; perform cycle counts.
• Assemble and package customer orders by picking, packing, and labeling materials.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment; perform routine maintenance checks.
• Inspect materials for quality and report issues; follow quality control procedures.
• Follow safety protocols; maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Prepare and maintain documentation related to material handling; collaborate with teams.
• Assist in training new team members and other duties as assigned.

As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a dedicated and efficient Materials Handler to join our team. As a Materials Handler, you will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution processes. Your primary responsibility will be to handle and organize incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring accurate inventory management and timely delivery to our customers. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and unload incoming materials, including lumber, hardware, tools, and other supplies, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Accurately record and update inventory levels in the warehouse management system, ensuring stock rotation and proper storage of materials. Perform regular cycle counts and assist in periodic physical inventory counts.
• Assemble and package customer orders by picking, packing, and labeling materials in accordance with customer requirements and company standards. Prepare shipments for delivery or pick-up, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move, stack, and transport materials within the warehouse. Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or damage.
• Inspect materials for quality, damage, or discrepancies, and report any issues to the appropriate personnel. Follow quality control procedures to maintain the integrity of products during handling and storage.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including proper lifting techniques, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and safe storage practices. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
• Prepare and maintain accurate documentation related to material handling activities, including receiving reports and inventory records.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction.
• Assist in training new team members and provide support as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

QualificationsQualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a warehouse or materials handling role is preferred.
• Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment.
• Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) regularly.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
