Job summary

Safety-Kleen in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Material Handler Lead to perform all warehouse duties safely and efficiently. You will supervise the team, unload waste from route trucks, and prep shipments while following all safety policies.

The role requires compliance with regulations, basic computer skills, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Training and growth opportunities are provided.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise warehouse personnel.
  • Unload containerized waste from route trucks.
  • Reload trucks with supplies and equipment for next day’s runs.
  • Ensure waste and containers are in acceptable shipping condition for transport to recycle or distribution centers.
  • Stock warehouse with received materials.
  • Prepare waste loads for shipment.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal compliance regulations and safety guidelines.
  • Safely operate vehicles per DOT and company guidelines.

Job description

Safety-Kleen in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Material Handler Lead to complete all assigned warehouse duties in a safe and responsible manner. This role will work within all local, state, and federal rules and regulations; and follow all Safety-Kleen policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
  • Supervise warehouse personnel
  • Unload containerized waste from the route trucks
  • Reload route trucks with supplies and equipment for next day’s runs
  • Ensures all waste and containers are in acceptable shipping condition and organized for transport to recycle or distribution centers
  • Stock the warehouse with received materials
  • Prepare waste loads for shipment
  • Housekeeping in the branch (painting, picking up trash, sweeping, cleaning, straightening)
  • Empty and fill drums of solvent mineral spirits
  • Perform minor repairs on parts washers at the warehouse
  • Supervise third party bulk liquid transfers
  • Order inventory and assist with inventory count at warehouse
  • Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
  • Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
  • Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
  • Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
