Position Overview

Under limited supervision, the Material Handler handles and maintains the flow of materials and products on the premises according to established guidelines.

1. Physically handle materials used to construct components and finished products to ensure movement of such items is optimized; lift, carry, and stack items as needed.
2. Record movement of incoming and outgoing materials and supplies; verify the accuracy of work performed by self and other material handlers.
3. Operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment, some requiring specialized training.
4. Plan and assign work tasks to Material Handlers to meet production goals.
5. Train employees in required tasks, including handling techniques, machinery use, and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Work is performed in a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels, and dust.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds on occasion.
• May be required to perform tasks involving climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling.
