Job summary

Olympic Steel is seeking a Material Handler to support our production processes. You will move work-in-progress material on the floor, stage finished goods, and assist with raw material receiving and preparation. You’ll also manage scrap parts and operate a forklift, plasma cutter, and acetylene torch as needed.

The role requires basic math, a high school diploma, and forklift experience. Overhead crane use (5–10 ton) and rigging may be required, with a focus on safe, efficient material flow in

Job Description

The Material Handler is responsible for all job tasks required to support production processes. The Material Handler is responsible for all job tasks required to support production processes. These activities may include movement of work-in-progress material on the production floor, finished goods staging, truck loading, raw material receiving and raw material and finished goods preparation and management. As the Material Handler you will be in charge of certain administrative work, as well as preparing paperwork for materials on the floor. As the Material Handler you will be responsible for handling the scrap parts, while operating a forklift, using handheld plasma, and using an acetylene torch. For this position there is also overhead crane usage (5 & 10 ton) as well as rigging.
