Job summary

Wm T Burnett West LLC is seeking a Material Handler to move raw materials, finished goods, and production supplies safely and efficiently. You will stage materials, load/unload trucks, verify quantities, and keep production lines stocked and running smoothly.

This role requires attention to detail, ability to lift up to 80 lbs, and a commitment to safety. Forklift certification is preferred or obtainable, and teamwork is essential in a busy indoor/outdoor setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret work instructions and documents.
• Ability to perform basic math functions.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs regularly.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
• Strong commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and production areas.
• Stage, move, and distribute materials to appropriate departments based on production schedules.
• Verify material quantities, product identification, and order accuracy.
• Perform visual inspections of materials and remove damaged items as needed.
• Doff packaging, handle rolls, fiber, and packaging materials as required by department needs.
• Maintain knowledge of tube cores, packaging materials, and inventory locations.
• Operate material handling equipment as assigned (manual carts, pallet jacks, forklifts if certified).
• Support multiple departments including Production, Lamination, Shipping, Maintenance, and Warehousing.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in all material handling zones.
• Read and interpret production schedules, work orders, and loading documentation.
• Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures and safety protocols.
• Report unsafe conditions, damaged inventory, or equipment issues to the Supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to ensure smooth material flow.
• Assist with inventory counts, tracking, and basic material documentation.
