Summary

Responsible for moving all pallets of finished products or component parts to the stretch wrapper, designated locations, or into the warehouse or fabrication departments.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Reports directly to the Production Supervisor and receives direction from the Injection Molding Manager or Assistant Supervisor in the absence of or in conjunction with the Production Supervisor.
Duties
  • Knowledge and recognition of plastic fittings by name, shape, and dimension.
  • Knowledge of daily performance goals and working to achieve 100% of targeted output.
  • Completion of production line paperwork accurately and in real time.
  • Assuring quality of work through the proper labeling and verification of correctness for all types of molded fittings and their associated packaging (i.e.: labels, cartons/cases, bags, ink jet printed information, case count, and pallet configuration).
  • Detection, segregation, and isolation of non-conforming quality defects and notifying Supervisor, Manager, and/or QA Department.
  • Able to identify various types of quality defects based on appearance, fit, form, and function.
  • Transports virgin and reground materials to the production machines for processing.
  • Transports all pallets of finished goods to stretch wrapper or into the warehouse.
  • Transports bins to proper staging areas for Bar Code and totes of parts for Fabrication to the assigned rack locations.
  • Assist in stretch wrapping of pallets of finished products.
  • Verifying correct LPNs are attached to the appropriate pallet(s) by scanning and comparing against the pallet ID tag.
  • Assist in housekeeping by transporting the trash bins for removal.
  • Must be able to safely operate and perform daily maintenance checks on a forklift.
  • Proper organization and cleanliness of assigned work area to highest level of standards (5S).
  • Perform 5S Audit for each work area assigned on a daily basis.
  • Performing the above-mentioned functions with minimum supervision.
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervision or management.

Must know how to operate a forklift and have a forklift license.

Education and or Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend sufficient English to follow work instructions.

Mathematical Skills

Basic mathematical skills and counting ability required.

Reasoning Ability

Must be able to pay close attention to detail, have general deductive reasoning skills to troubleshoot minor issues and knowledgeable of how and when to escape. Must be able to work without close supervision.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have forklift license.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds, bend, stoop, walk, carry, clean, drive and maintain. Will use gloves, fork truck, stretch wrap machine, and pallet jacks.

Work Environment

General factory. Exposed to heat, cold, noise, dust, oil/grease, purge fumes, raw material and traveling powered industrial vehicles.

Training Requirements
  • General Job Duties: Forklift operation, stretch wrapper use, interpret parts bin hangers, tracking paperwork/verification, packaging types, housekeeping, etc.
  • Line Operation: Responsible for keeping empty pallets staged for the Injection Molding department, transporting finished pallets to wrapper and/or warehouse, verifying correct LPNs are attached to the appropriate pallet(s) by scanning and comparing against the pallet ID tag.
  • Quality Control & Auditing: Employees are trained on defective parts and how to verify counts, part numbers, barcode readability, pallet quantity, etc.
