Job summary

Life Fitness / Hammer Strength is hiring a Material Handler in the Weld Department. The role offers $22.25-$26.15 per hour plus a $2 shift premium for 2nd shift and quarterly bonuses.

You will transport supplies, maintain inventory accuracy, and operate a forklift in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. The position includes comprehensive benefits and 3 weeks PTO with 96 hours of holiday pay each year.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate in English (read, speak and understand).
• Ability to prioritize work with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Supervisor/Lead to ensure timely set-ups and minimize down-time.
• Organize, store, and transport parts and supplies and complete related paperwork.
• Maintain accurate inventory; report shortages/overages and supply needs.
• Operate forklift and perform daily tasks safely and efficiently.
• Complete Oracle transactions accurately and timely.
• Assist Operators in delivering parts to maximize department efficiency.
• Remove and distribute empty pallets and baskets; return to proper locations.
• Keep areas organized and clean on a daily basis.

JOB PURPOSE:

Transport supplies, parts and product as required in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining accurate inventory counts and documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Coordinate with Supervisor/Lead to ensure timely set-ups in order to avoid or minimize down-time.
• Organize, store, and transport parts and supplies as needed and complete all corresponding paperwork. (Routers, tags with proper part numbers, etc.)
• Maintain accurate inventory. Report shortages/overages and supply needs to Supervisor
• Operate forklift
• Complete transactions in Oracle accurately and in a timely manner
• Assist Operators in delivering parts in order to maximize department efficiency
• Remove and distribute empty pallets and baskets as needed
• Place parts in proper location and clearly write on router
• Return empty carts to Fabrication and bins to proper location
• Organize and clean areas on a daily basis
• Return Jigs to designated racks
• Complete daily inspection sheets

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to operate a forklift and be forklift certified. ( Forklift experience preferred )
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Ability to effectively communicate in English (read, speak and understand)
• Ability to prioritize work with minimal direction
• Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and time management skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Submit to a visual acuity exam.
• Lift up to 30 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally
• Push/pull up to 25 lbs
• Walk, stand, bend, twist/turn, reach overhead and grasp tools as necessary
• Operate forklift for long periods

Your base wage will be between $22.25 - $26.15 per hour and includes eligibility for overtime. The actual wage offer will be based on qualifications, experience, location, and other relevant factors. You'll have the opportunity to participate in the Production Bonus Plan, which provides opportunities to earn additional compensation based on performance metrics. Bonus eligibility is subject to meeting certain production goals and other criteria as outlined.This position is eligible for a $2.00 per hour shift differential for hours worked on 2nd shift, in addition to the base hourly wage.
