Veolia North America is seeking a Waste Operations Technician for a nighttime shift. You will move and process various waste streams, operate forklift and pallet jack, and follow safety procedures in a plant environment.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading containers, completing processing paperwork, and maintaining a clean, compliant work area while using PPE and adhering to regulatory requirements. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualificações

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Two to four years of pallet jack experience.
• Two to four years of forklift experience.
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.

Job Description

The shift is from Monday to Friday Noon to 8:40 p.m.

Position Purpose:

Responsible for performing a variety of routine hazardous and non-hazardous waste tasks in the movement and
processing of various waste in various container size/type. Tasks could include: Follow procedures & direction,
perform manual labor, proper usage of PPE, operate mobile equipment (manual and powered), operate fixed /
stationary equipment, loading & unloading containers, perform equipment inspections, identification of various
container size/type, scanning container movements, consolidation of containers & material, staging containers in
designated area, recognize markings & labels. Tasks will be performed on a daily basis in the designated
processing area as assigned by Leads & Supervisors in order to meet processing objectives for material disposal.

Primary Duties /Responsibilities:

• Load and unload various size containers (totes, drums, tankers, trailers. etc.) using mechanical or manual means
• Transport hazardous waste materials from storage facilities within the facility as directed.
• Assist in completing all necessary paperwork for processing materials to include transportation of materials to and from various locations.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Inspection material handling equipment as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Two to four years of pallet jack experience
• Two to four years of Forklift experience
• 40- Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Ability to communicate through reading and writing
• Trained in the use of material handling equipment

Physical Requirements:

• Must be okay with working in the elements.
