Job summary

Emerson in Olive Branch, MS is seeking a Material Handler II (Taper) to safely seal cartons, load paper, and prepare products for shipment at our on-site distribution center. You will operate packaging and labeling equipment, inspect items, and ensure accurate barcodes and inventory numbers while maintaining productivity.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 6 months of warehouse experience, forklift certification, and ability to lift 50+ pounds. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Requires prior 6 months of warehouse experience.
• Experience in shipping/receiving/material handling preferred.
• Must be able to operate pallet rider safely.
• Able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds and work in bending, squatting and standing.
• Must pass forklift certifications and non-DOT physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual, semi-automated, or automated tape machines to seal cartons.
• Operate a Storopack Paperplus machine loading fanfold or roll paper.
• Set cushion length and volume and pad at packing station.
• Inspect items for damage and pack into cartons per customer requirements.
• Apply shipping labels, barcodes, and inventory numbers.
• Maintain a steady pace to meet production goals.
• Ensure packages meet shipping regulations and are secured for transit.
• Keep workstation clean and follow safety rules.
