Job summary

Dal-Tile Corp. in Dickson, TN is seeking an intermediate level Material Handler to stock, wrap, load, and unload materials while maintaining accurate inventory and safe operations. The role requires operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts, pulling and packing customer orders, and performing daily cycle counts.

Monday–Friday 6:00 am–2:30 pm with occasional overtime and Saturdays. Strong attention to safety, good communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse are essential;

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator.
• 1+ year distribution/warehouse experience; minimum 6 months stand-up forklift/order picker experience; pallet jack acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Operate powered industrial trucks to pick orders and move shipments to packing/shipping areas.
• Pull/assemble orders, check outbound shipments for accuracy, perform stock checks and restock/label vendor products; maintain displays.
• Receive/unload inbound material, process shipments, stock material, handle returns and report damaged freight.
• Operate Sit-down and Standup forklifts; keep facility clean and organized; follow Safety Program rules.

Dal-Tile is currently seeking an intermediate level Material Handler to join our TEAM! As a material handler we need someone that is experienced in stocking, checking, wrapping, and loading and unloading materials.

Hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm, with possible overtime and Saturday work.

Primary Objective:

Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and conveys orders to packing station or shipping area.

Major Function and Scope:

• Performs a variety of warehouse duties such as pull/assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy/completeness, inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor product, maintain displays (tools, caulk, etc.), move, store, and replenish material, and conduct daily cycle counts.
• Performs receiving duties such as receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, stock material, process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims.
• Operates Sit-down & Standup (Reach Truck) forklift equipment.
• Maintains clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, restroom and general office maintenance, etc.
• Maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to Management.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Experience and Knowledge Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent experience; Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator
• 1 or more years previous distribution/warehouse experience. Must have a minimum of 6 months previous stand-up forklift or order picker equipment experience. No experience required for pallet jack.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance. The associate may lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. The aver number of picks per hour is 25 and the average weight is between 40-70 lbs with heavier picks (50-70 lbs) being 65% of the work shift and lighter weight items (20-40 lbs) being 35% of the work shift. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud.
