Job summary

Palmetto Goodwill in Charleston, SC is seeking a warehouse associate skilled in material handling and forklift operation. You will unload and load trucks, sort merchandise for storage, processing, and recycling, and operate equipment safely to meet daily targets while maintaining a clean work area.

Dependable transportation is required, and you must be able to obtain and maintain Power Industrial Truck certification.

Qualifications

• Able to operate forklift and other warehouse equipment safely.
• Experience in warehouse material handling and inventory movement.
• Must be able to sort/pack material for safe storage or transport.

Responsibilities

• Assist unloading or loading trucks.
• Sort merchandise into containers for storage, processing, distribution, and recycling.
• Operate baler machine to prepare material for distribution.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area.
• Visually inspect equipment prior to operation; perform safety checks.
• Obtain and maintain Power Industrial Truck certification.
• Demonstrate proficiency through evaluation.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

• Complies with all agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.
• Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must have dependable transportation. Able to use pallet jack, two‐wheel dollies and four‐wheel carts. Able to sort and pack material for safe storage or transport. Must be able to obtain and maintain Power Industrial Truck certification.

Actively participates in the movement of stored merchandise in a warehouse setting. Sorts and prepares materials for shipment and / or recycling operations. Actively participates in post-retail recycling of product. Utilizes forklift and/or walk behind stacker to load and unload materials.
