Job summary

Aptar is seeking a Material Handler I (3rd Shift) based in Cary, IL. This full onsite role handles ordering and delivering component parts to workstations and moving cartons of assembled goods to the Warehouse.

Shift hours are 12:20am–8:30am, Monday through Friday. You will perform recordkeeping, traceability, and housekeeping duties, with requirements including English literacy, teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English to communicate and understand information.
  • Must be able to bend and lift/move/push/50 pounds continuously throughout the shift.
  • Must stand or walk for the entire shift and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math and basic PC skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Order component parts through computer entry.
  • Deliver components to workstations by hand or with a hand truck/pallet jack.
  • Move cartons of assembled product from workstations using hand truck/pallet jack.
  • Verify component correctness via visual inspection and labels.
  • Fill machine hoppers at varying heights and perform traceability functions with a handheld scanner.

Aptar is seeking aMaterial Handler I (3rd Shift)based in Cary, IL. This position is fully onsite. This role is responsible for ordering and delivering component parts to workstations and filling machine hoppers, as well as moving cartons of assembled goods to the Warehouse.

Shift Hours: 12:20am – 8:30am, Monday - Friday

As a Material Handler I You Will:

  • Orders component parts through computer entry.
  • Delivers component parts to workstations by hand and using a hand truck and/or pallet jack.
  • Moves cartons of assembled product from workstations by hand and using a hand truck and/or pallet jack.
  • Verifies correctness of components through visual inspection and reading box labels.
  • Fills machine hoppers at various heights.
  • Performs recordkeeping duties; including weighs scrap and records data.
  • Performs traceability and lot control functions utilizing a hand-held scanner.
  • Performs housekeeping duties in the production area.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Must be able to work as a member of a team, have a high energy level and be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • HS Diploma or GED

Required Skills

  • Must be able to bend and lift/move/push a minimum of 50 pounds and reach above the shoulder continuously throughout the shift (approximately every 15 minutes).
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for the entire shift.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English in order to communicate and understand relevant information relating to quality and production issues.
  • Must maintain high energy level, be able to communicate with others and work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Must have good vision in order to perform visual inspection duties.
  • Must be able to hear warning signals and verbal alerts to avoid injury during manufacturing process.
  • Must be able to discern shades of color and color differences relating to component parts used in the manufacturing process.
  • Must be able to climb steps.
  • Must be able to read various inspection gages.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Must possess basic PC skills.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the starting salary for this role is $18.50 (plus $1.50/hour shift differential).
