Job summary

G&W Electric is seeking a Material Handler I to load, move, and store materials, perform inventory transactions, and support manufacturing operations in our Illinois facility. You will handle pallets, operate hand trucks, and ensure accurate material flow through receiving, storage, and production cells.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 0–1 years in manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read Bills of Materials and interpret instructions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Unload, move, and store materials, and conduct inventory transactions in the system.
• Fill orders from storage areas and deliver to designated cells.
• Operate hand truck to move materials and stack pallets.
• Report shortages or damaged material and maintain Kanban status.
• Perform cycle counts and maintain a safe, clean workspace.
• Train others in material handler tasks as needed.

Material Handler I

In this job you will fill orders move materials between cellsdepartments check identification for quantities and part numbers and perform inventory transactions in the business system As a Material Handler I you will Unload move and store a variety of materials parts or products Conduct Bin Maintenance as neededUnload incoming materials check identification for quantities and part Numbers report shortages or damaged material move to storage areasMove materials between cells following routing delivery tickets or ordersFill orders from storage areas and warehouse stock and deliver to designated cellsOperate hand truck to move materials and stack loaded palletsLoad outgoing trucks using a hand truck or pallet jackRelease and maintain the status of Kanbans and report on late ordersAccurately perform inventory transactions in the G&W business systemPerform cycle counts as requestedMaintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulationsConserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job resultsContribute to team effort by training others in the performance of material handler tasks as neededInspect all work prior to passing it on to the next operationDocument actions by completing production and quality formsWe are looking for someone who Has a High School diploma GED or combination of work experience and skill developmentIdeally has 0 1 years of experience working in a manufacturing environmentMust be able to safely use pallet jacks and other manual moving equipmentMust be able to read and interpret Bills of MaterialMust have basic to intermediate computer skillsHas the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others to support the manufacturing processesIdeally has previous warehouse or manufacturing experienceThe physical demands of the job are Work is classified as Medium Heavy Physical Demand Level PDL by the US Dept of Labors Dictionary of Occupational TitlesFrequencies Occasional 1 33;
