Job summary

Klein Tools in Mansfield, TX is hiring a Material Handler I to move materials through production, maintain accurate inventory, and update systems to support on-time delivery. The role requires forklift operation, RF scanning, and adherence to safety procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You'll work closely with production teams to ensure material readiness, participate in lean initiatives, and contribute to a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and 1 year of related manufacturing experience.
  • Must read, write, speak and understand basic English.
  • Willing to wear PPE.
  • Knowledge of 6S standards preferred; IMI AS400 experience preferred.
  • Operate forklift, RF scanner, and pallet jack.
  • Experience updating data in material requirements planning software and supply chain software.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Strong safety awareness.
  • Ability to read production tickets/BOMs for work orders.
  • Attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift to transport inbound/outbound materials within production cells.
  • Update data in systems including location and inventory counts.
  • Verify material move requirements and check order status for daily production schedules.
  • Collaborate with supervisors or Material Handler II to resolve shortages and discrepancies.
  • Record production parts and scrap counts via paperwork or electronic entry.
  • Assist with material requests and ordering additional components.
  • Perform daily safety inspections of equipment and weekly maintenance of lift truck batteries.
  • Follow lean principles to improve efficiency and keep area organized.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and report concerns.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Operate a forklift to transport inbound and outbound materials within production cells.
  • Update data within the computer systems including location and inventory count of all materials.
  • Verify material move requirements and check the status of orders to prepare for daily production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of finished products.
  • Correspond with supervisors or Material Handler II employees to resolve shortages of materials or inventory balance discrepancies.
  • Report accurate count of production parts and scrap by completing required paperwork and/or electronic entry.
  • Assist manufacturing team members with material requests and order additional components as needed.
  • Perform daily safety inspections of material handling equipment and weekly watering of the lift truck batteries.
  • Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management.
  • Follow lean manufacturing principles to help solve daily problems, improve efficiencies, and keep the work area organized and clean.
  • Follow all safety standards. Always prioritize safety over output. Communicate all safety concerns to your supervisor.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education development (GED) and one (1) year of related work experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.
  • Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Knowledge of 6S standards are preferred. Experience with IMI Series (AS400) is preferred.
  • Must be able to operate a Class II Sit-Down Forklift, RF Scanner, and Pallet Jack.
  • Must possess knowledge in updating data and navigating through material requirements planning software and supply chain software (i.e. production reporting, inventory location/cycle count software, etc.).
  • Ability to demonstrate basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of safety awareness.
  • Ability to read a production ticket, job packet, or bill of material for work orders.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail. Ability to meet established deadlines.
