Job summary

A.L. Hansen Mfg. Co., an ISO-9001 certified company and leading hardware manufacturer in Waukegan, IL, is seeking a Material Handler to load trucks, store and move material, and pull orders for packing and shipment.

You will work Monday to Friday with daytime hours, use pick lists, and ensure accurate inventory. A full benefits package is offered, including paid holidays and 401k.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain forklift license.
• Read and comprehend all shipping paperwork.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts with attention to detail.
• Be proficient with computers for inventory.
• Operate electronic weight scale and packing tools.
• Capable of using order pickers and warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

• Store material in proper locations.
• Pull material for orders using pick lists and slips.
• Return unused material to correct locations.
• Move material to finished goods racks.
• Move packed orders to staging racks for shipment.
• Consolidate packed orders on skids for shipment.
• Load trucks with outgoing materials.
• Cycle count boxes to ensure accuracy.
• Move shipping and scrap material to QC hold as directed.
• Adhere to OSHA and company safety standards.
• Follow other duties as assigned.

Job description

Primary purpose of job:

Load trucks with outgoing material. Move, store and space material as directed.

Essential functions of job, frequency and percentage of time on the job:

• Store material in proper locations.
• Pull material for specific orders to be packed, using pick lists, and pick slips.
• Put back any unused material.
• Move material to the finished goods racks.
• Move packed orders off the floor to the staging racks.
• Consolidate packed orders on skids for shipment.
• Load trucks with outgoing materials.
• Cycle count boxes
• Move shipping and scrap material in and out of QC hold.
• Follow OSHA and Company safety standards.
• Must wear personal protective equipment such as ear and eye protection.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required skills, licenses, knowledge, experience or abilities:

• Must be able to obtain license for forklift.

• High level of attention to detail for proper documentation to maintain accurate inventory counts.
• Knowledge of computers to maintain inventory.
• Ability to use and operate electronic weight scale, stapler, tape gun, automatic shrink-wrap machine, pallet jacks and hand held carts.
• Operate order pickers.
