Job summary

Perfection Learning’s Urbandale, Iowa distribution center is seeking a Material Handler I to support picking, packing, and shipping orders. This first-shift role starts at $18.00 per hour and runs Monday–Friday on either 6a–2:30p or 7:30a–4p.

The team emphasizes safety, accuracy, and collaboration in a climate-controlled warehouse environment. Responsibilities include updating stock in the warehouse system, receiving inventory, pulling and packing orders, and ensuring items are stored correctly

WHAT DOES A MATERIAL HANDLER I DO?

As a Material Handler I, you will be updating stock quantities and locations within our warehouse management system. Receive inventory into stock. Pulling stock and packing customer orders. Attention to detail in this position is required to ensure the correct item is stocked and restocked, the inbound/outbound products are placed in their identified warehouse home locations, and all items are handled with care as the package is made ready for shipping.

WHAT EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?

• High School or GED
• Willing to work in warehouses without heat or air conditioning. Our distribution center is climate controlled, however some of the warehouse locations do not have heat or air conditioning.
• Willing to work independently for extended periods.
• Basic math and computer skills will be required

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to use handheld electronic devices for performing pick, pack, receiving, and put away tasks
• Regularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and arms
• You will be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly
• Must be able to read and write English and have the ability to communicate with coworkers
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move 35 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Able to perform repetitive movements
• Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
