Job Summary: The Material Handler I is responsible for the flow of raw materials in Lighthouse Louisiana’s Production warehouses.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Ensure the flow of raw materials into, and finished products out of, their assigned department.
  2. Inspect products to identify and report possible defects.
  3. Operate material moving equipment as required.
  4. Palletize and label finished product as assigned.
  5. Shrink wrap finished goods as assigned.
  6. Maintain the required output levels as specified by the department supervisor.
  7. Adhere to the Lighthouse safety plan by utilizing safe workplace practices and immediately report all injuries, accidents, near misses, emergencies, and safety hazards to the appropriate Lighthouse official.
  8. Work and coordinate within the product flow of the department and coordinate all activities with the supervisor.
  9. Conduct all business in a positive, relationship‑building manner at all times.
  10. Perform all duties in compliance with Lighthouse’s ISO Quality System procedures.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Education: High school or GED preferred.
  2. Special Knowledge: Organizational skills; ability to multi‑task.
  3. Experience: Pallet jack operation heavily preferred.
  4. Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
  5. Physical: Able to perform duties as required by department and function, able to stand for long periods and perform repetitious work; ability to maneuver 500 lbs. continually throughout the day. Able to travel throughout the facility to safely and effectively manage all work responsibilities, breaks, and emergency evacuations, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Able to manage all self‑care needs, and activities of daily living as required to support successful employment, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  6. Personality: Dependable, motivated, organized, detail‑oriented, people‑oriented; ability to work well in a team environment.
  7. Working Conditions: Inside and outside, warehouse.
  8. Work Schedule: Full‑time, 40 hours, overtime as needed/ Non‑Exempt.
  9. Background Check and Drug Testing Required: Employment is contingent upon satisfactory results.
