Job summary

The Oilgear Company is seeking a Material Handler in Traverse City, MI to load/unload materials, prepare shipments, and operate forklifts and related equipment. This role requires 3–5 years in warehousing, ERP experience, and the ability to work overtime.

Strong attention to detail and safety adherence are essential. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and be comfortable standing for long periods while handling heavy materials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
• 3–5 years in a warehouse or logistics role; material handling equipment experience preferred.
• Shipping/receiving experience and ERP familiarity.
• Forklift certification preferred; ability to work in a team.
• Read, write, follow instructions, and work independently with minimal guidance.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods; lift heavy materials.
• Operate warehouse software and basic MS Excel/Word.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products.
• Move materials to/from loading docks, trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas.
• Identify/label materials and record locations to maintain inventory.
• Prepare finished products for shipment by locating, pulling, packing, and loading them.
• Operate trucks, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move freight.
• Perform and report cycle counts.
• Comply with warehouse safety rules and guidelines.
