A leading equipment manufacturer located in Madison Heights, Michigan, is seeking a Material Handler to support fabrication, welding, and assembly operations. The ideal candidate will have a forklift license and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision. Qualifications
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks with little supervision.
Current forklift and aerial lift platform license.
Basic computer skills.
Physical ability to stand, walk, reach above shoulders and outward, bend, squat and crawl.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
Perform duties in support of the company's fabrication, welding, and assembly cells.
Stock FIFO and kitted carts with parts in required quantities based on the production schedule.
Restock fabricated and purchased parts in the finished parts supermarket.
Maintain finished part supermarkets, ensuring organization and accuracy.
Coordinate replenishment and communicate potential shortages with Buyer/Planner.
Perform daily 5S maintenance and maintain safe working conditions.
Operate a hi-lo forklift as needed to move, stock, or replenish materials.
Use a variety of powered and unpowered material-handling equipment.
Perform tasks as trained and report packaging problems, piece part abnormalities/nonconformance, and unusual workplace events to the BU lead or supervisor.
Participate in company training programs and work effectively in a team environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
