Job summary

Freedom Motors USA in Battle Creek, MI is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator to support production by moving parts and materials efficiently while adhering to safety, quality, and productivity standards.

You will deliver parts to production, load and unload trucks, inspect orders, organize storage, assist in inventory, and perform routine equipment maintenance, all while maintaining good housekeeping and reporting issues to maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Coursework beyond a high school diploma preferred.
  • Experience with forklift and material handling practices.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Follow MIOSHA safety regulations and company policies.
  • Excellent communication and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver parts to production areas to maintain standards.
  • Load and unload parts on the delivery truck safely.
  • Review and inspect parts and orders upon receipt.
  • Organize and maintain storage of parts and materials.
  • Assist in physical inventory counts.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
  • Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on material handling equipment.

Material Handler/Forklift Operator

is a key team member who will be responsible for utilizing their skills and training to accomplish the assigned tasks in a timely manner while meeting the standards set forth in safety, quality, and productivity.

What You'll Do:
  • Deliver small and large parts to production areas in a timely manner to ensure that production standards are maintained.
  • Load and unload small and large parts on the delivery truck in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Review and inspect parts and orders when received.
  • Organize and maintain proper storage of parts and materials.
  • Assist in physical inventory counts as needed.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area.
  • Regularly inspect and perform preventive maintenance on material handling equipment.
  • Report issues to maintenance as needed.
What You'll Need:
  • Coursework beyond a high school diploma preferred.
  • Previous experience with forklift and material handling practices.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and logical thinking.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Follow and ensure compliance with MIOSHA safety regulations as well as all company policies and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Outstanding attendance record and reliability.
