Job summary

The Hershey Company in Whitestown, IN is seeking a Material Handler to safely operate forklifts and other PIT to move raw materials and finished goods. You will maintain accurate inventory records and support FEFO processes to meet production timelines.

Qualified candidates have 1–2 years forklift experience, HS diploma, and fluency in English; experience with AS400, SAP, Visitrak is a plus. This role offers bi-weekly pay and benefits as part of our team.

Qualifications

• Experience operating industrial powered trucks, sit-down forklifts.
• Must be able to read English.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to move raw materials and finished products throughout the plant.
• Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items and works with other team members to ensure team moves materials in FEFO order, onto and off trucks, ready for shipments, loads and unloads docks and moves product into staging areas.
• Load and unload trucks using a forklift.
• Keep accurate inventory records and update the computer system with all material movement.
• Properly tagging of all finished goods as they are produced and moving to the Warehouse staging areas.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on forklift equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues to the maintenance team.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate material movement and ensure production timelines are met.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the forklift and storage areas.
• Assist with other tasks as assigned by plant management.
