Job summary

Bass Pro Shops in North Carolina is seeking a team member to load finished boats, motors and trailers and secure loads for transport. You will prepare trailers, assemble rails, and use a powered lift truck to position gear onto trailers.

You will strap and tie down gear, unload trailers, and move stock between plants as needed. A valid driver’s license, adherence to safety protocols, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with forklifts, yard tractors and basic tools preferred.
• Must be able to load/unload trailers and secure loads safely.

Responsibilities

• Load finished boats, motors, and trailers on transportation.
• Prepare trailers by assembling rails and components for loading.
• Operate powered lift truck to place boats and motors on trailers.
• Strap and tie down boats, motors and accessories.
• Load, tie down, and secure cargo; unload trailers by power lift truck.
• Drive between plants as needed; maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for loading finished boats, motors, and trailers on various types of transportation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Prepare the Tracker Boat trailers for loading by placing and assembling steel rails and components in the proper configuration for the type and mix of boats being loaded
• Place boats and motors on the trailers by operating a powered lift truck
• Strap and tie down the boats, motors, and accessories by using various types of strapping and tie down equipment
• Load, tie down, and secure boats, motors and accessories.
• Unload trailers shipped from the trailer manufacturing plant and place in a pre-determined location in the yard by use of a power lift truck
• Ability to drive truck back and forth between the two plants
• Complete all assigned or team duties in a timely manner
• Keep work area clean, safe and hazard free
• All other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Degree Required : High School Diploma or equivalent

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license - Preferred Class E license

Tools and Equipment:

Forklifts, motor vehicles and yard tractors. Power washer. A variety of hand and power tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers and nub drivers. Protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, etc. (tinted safety glasses are allowed outside).
