Job summary

FedEx in Appleton, WI seeks a ground operations associate to safely operate equipment for moving packages and documents and to load/offload aircraft outdoors. Tasks include adhering to safety rules and coordinating with team in varying weather conditions.

This position requires basic English communication, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and flexibility for early morning shifts. Work includes walking, bending, climbing stairs, and performing other duties as assigned in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Job Duties

Provides safe and efficient operation of equipment used for the movement of packages/documents and dangerous goods using powered equipment to load and offload aircraft outdoors. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

None

Minimum Experience

Clerical exp including typing and/or general office administration duties preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance from the ground to chest level and to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. using appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Able to walk and stand for designated work hours. Able to bend and squat for designated work hours. Able to maneuver packages above shoulder level. Ability to maneuver packages in enclosed spaces and stack packages above one’s head if required at location. Able to work in all weather conditions if required at work location. Able to climb stairs and ladders if required at work location. Able to successfully complete all basic and re-currency training. The ability to communicate both timely and effectively, in a noisy operations environment, is required. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.

Job Conditions

Non-covered safety sensitive position. Proficiency in English, both verbal and written required. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must possess a valid driver license. Medical exam required in accordance with FHWA or FAA regulations.
