Job summary

Jones-Hamilton Co. is seeking a reliable Material Handler to support operations in a fast-paced warehouse/manufacturing setting. The role involves inventory control, material transport, and accurate data entry to keep production running smoothly.

After training, the shift is days, four 10-hour days, Thursday through Sunday. Responsibilities include unloading shipments, organizing materials, operating equipment, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic math, computer literacy, and ERP data entry experience.
  • Ability to read and follow safety rules, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to act independently when needed.
  • Punctual, dependable, and self-motivated.
  • Valid forklift certification, or ability to obtain.
  • Must pass drug screening, complete a background check and physical, and be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments; inspect materials for damage and verify quantities against packing slips.
  • Store materials in designated locations with proper organization and labeling.
  • Operate and maintain automated bagging equipment; inspect and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Address issues such as clogged conveying lines or product buildup in bins.
  • Transport materials within the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, perform inventory counts, and report discrepancies.
  • Pick, stage, and load orders with precision and timeliness.
  • Conduct daily inspections and basic maintenance of forklifts and other equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Enter material movement and inventory data into the company’s ERP system.
  • Complete documentation related to inventory adjustments and order fulfillment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Are you a reliable and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment? We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to support our operations by managing inventory, transporting materials, and ensuring timely delivery throughout the facility. In this hands-on role, you’ll play a vital part in keeping our production running smoothly and efficiently. After the initial training period, this position is scheduled for day shift working four 10-hour days Thursday - Sunday.

This position requires the ability to operate material handling equipment, perform accurate data entry, and maintain a high standard of safety and organization. If you’re a team player with a strong work ethic and an eye for detail, we’d like to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment with potential exposure to chemicals, fumes, and loud noise.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. consistently throughout the shift.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs/ladders (up to 140’), and work in confined or elevated spaces.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination required for operating equipment and tools.
  • Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, humidity, and noise.
  • Use of PPE, including masks or respirators, as required.
  • Adequate vision and hearing (with corrective devices if needed) to detect issues and communicate effectively.
  • Strict adherence to all safety policies, including fall protection and confined space procedures.
  • Ability to maintain focus and productivity in a physically demanding role.
