Summary

Responsible for receiving, inventorying, and monitoring all incoming raw materials (including molding pellets, cartons, labels, and other components).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position reports directly to the Raw Material Supervisor and also receives directions from the Operations Manager and Inventory Analyst in the absence of or in conjunction with the Raw Material Supervisor.

Duties

• Knowledge and recognition of materials and where they are used.
• Knowledge of daily performance goals and working to achieve 100% of tasked duties.
• Completion of necessary documentation or data entry in an accurate and timely manner.
• Strong computer competency for ERP, including inventory reporting, cycle counting, purchasing receiving and reporting; prior SAP experience is a plus.
• Safe and timely unloading of incoming deliveries.
• Collection of testing samples of all incoming deliveries to complete required testing.
• Proper verification of incoming materials, quantities and delivery to their assigned location.
• Detection, segregation and isolation of non-conforming materials and timely notification of Quality, Procurement, Materials and Operations for corrective actions.
• Safe and timely transportation of virgin and reground materials to the production floor for processing, when necessary.
• Assurance of quality of work through proper labeling and verification of correctness for all types of materials.
• Identification of various types of quality defects and notification of proper departments.
• Assistance in inventory counts and data entry as necessary and instructed.
• Development and maintenance of visual management methods such as visual cues, floor markings, signage or dashboards.
• Safe operation and daily maintenance checks on a forklift.
• Proper organization and cleanliness of assigned work area to the highest standards (5S).
• Perform 5S audit for each assigned work area on a regular basis.
• Perform the aforementioned functions with minimum supervision.
• Any other duties assigned by supervision or management.

Qualifications

Must know how to operate a forklift and have a valid forklift license.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend sufficient English to follow work instructions.

Mathematical Skills

Basic mathematical skills and counting ability required.

Reasoning Ability

Must pay close attention to detail, possess general deductive reasoning skills to troubleshoot minor issues, and know how and when to elevate; must work without close supervision.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must maintain a valid forklift license.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds, bend, stoop, walk, carry, clean, drive and maintain. Will use gloves, forklift, stretch wrap machine and pallet jacks. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work Environment

General factory. Exposed to heat, cold, noise, dust, oil/grease, purge fumes, raw material and traveling powered industrial vehicles.

Training Requirements

• General Job Duties: Forklift operation, stretch wrapper use, tracking paperwork, housekeeping, etc.
• Quality Control & Auditing: Training on quality standards, recognizing defects and reporting to proper departments for corrective actions.
