Job summary

ServiceMaster Clean in Ohio is seeking a Material Handler to support daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced distribution center. You will safely load, unload, move, and organize pallets, and operate material-handling equipment as needed.

The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently or with others, maintain OSHA standards, and contribute to inventory accuracy and overall warehouse efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a warehouse environment with emphasis on safety.
• Forklift certification a plus; willingness to recertify per company standards.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and material-handling equipment to load/unload from trucks.
• Build and organize pallets for storage and transport.
• Move pallets and goods throughout the facility and assist with inventory tasks.
• Maintain a clean, OSHA-compliant work area and follow safety policies.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced distribution center by safely loading, unloading, moving, and organizing materials and products. The Material Handler will operate material-handling equipment and potentially forklifts as needed, maintain a clean and OSHA-compliant work environment, and work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficiency and accuracy. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Safely operate forklifts and/or other material-handling equipment, as required, to load and unload materials and products from trucks, trailers, and containers.
• Build, stack, and organize pallets for efficient storage and transportation.
• Move and maneuver pallets and goods throughout the facility.
• Load, unload, and stack pallets manually or with equipment.
• Inspect pallets for damage and repair, recycle, or remove as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Assist with inventory management, quality control, and general warehouse support.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Physical Demands and Qualifications:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and stooping while handling materials.
• Must be able to work in varying warehouse environments and temperatures, including exposure to noise, heat, cold, and indoor/outdoor conditions.
• Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds frequently.
• Proof of prior forklift certification is a plus; and select candidates will be recertified to our company standards.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards related to warehouse operations.

The Shifts:

• 8am to 4pm Sunday through Thursday
• 8am to 4pm Tuesday through Saturday
• 1pm to 9pm Monday through Friday
