Job summary

ACEMCO Incorporated seeks a material handler/PIT operator to move materials and products using forklifts, and occasionally operate a back-up truck for inter-facility transport. A CDL is preferred for trucking duties, with strong safety and situational awareness emphasized.

Candidates should be able to learn multiple areas within the plant, maintain clean driving records, and proficiently use Microsoft Office tools for inventory and documentation.

Qualifications

• One year of relevant experience preferred.
• CDL preferred/required for back-up truck driving responsibilities.
• Clean and acceptable driving record.
• Experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
• Must maintain corrected vision and meet PIT operator requirements.
• Willingness to train in multiple areas of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Powered Industrial Truck to move or load products, materials, etc. safely.
• Operate a company back-up truck as needed to transport materials, product, or equipment between facilities or other designated locations.
• Maintain a valid CDL and meet all applicable requirements for operating a company vehicle, if assigned to CDL driving responsibilities.
• Adhere to all safety specifications, including stacking heights, seat belt use, speed limits, signage, etc.
• Maintain a high level of awareness when operating a PIT or company vehicle to ensure safety of all associates, product, equipment, and the public.
• Perform battery charging and changes safely while adhering to company guidelines.
• Stack product and materials in various environments safely.
• Perform inventory-related and/or coil-hanging functions as needed based on facility requirements.
• Function as a member of a work team and identify safety and process improvements within the facility.
• Perform additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the supervisor/manager.

Job description

Support the manufacturing, production, and shipping/receiving functions through the movement of material by using a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) or various alternative equipment. Will be moving raw material and finished product with various types of equipment, including but not limited to sit-down hi-lo. May also be required to operate a company back-up truck to transport materials, product, or equipment between facilities or other designated locations.

Please note that driving a hi-lo or back-up truck will not be the entire position. Must be willing to learn and train in other areas within the plant.
