Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school education or GED is required.
  • Forklift certification preferred or willing to obtain Northwire License within one week.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems and barcode scanning is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/QMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Transfer raw materials between Warehouse, Production, and Shipping/Receiving per procedures.
  • Use MRP/ERP to adjust weights and locations for materials.
  • Verify material part numbers with barcode scanners.
  • Load and unload dryers following procedures and keep areas clean.
  • Maintain accurate material documentation and assist inventories.

Job description

Location: Santa Teresa, NM


Reports To: Production Supervisor


Classification: Full-Time Non-exempt


Department: Production



Summary/Objective:

Material Handler is responsible for receiving and storing all the materials used in production along returning to stock. Using a variety of scales and delivery mechanisms, including a forklift while safely ensuring timely and accurate delivery to internal customers. Material Handler must ensure all material is correctly labeled with the correct lot number and placed in the correct locations. Also responsible for incoming inspection of materials. Data entry for the return raw materials to and from the Warehouse, Production Lines and Shipping/Receiving as needed.



Essential Functions:


  • Transfer raw materials both in the computer system and to/from the Warehouse, Production, and Shipping/Receiving without incurring process downtime

  • Use MRP/ERP with adjusted material or product weights and locations

  • Use barcode scanner(s) to verify material part numbers and locations

  • Load and unload (and keep clean) compound dryers following existing procedures

  • Maintain clean, organized workstation and assigned areas

  • Perform forklift inspections and notify Maintenance of needed repairs

  • Maintain material and product documentation per requirements

  • Assist with scheduled facility inventories

  • All other duties assigned

Work Environment:

Climate controlled warehouse and production environment with cement floors. Operating scales, handcarts, forklift and other material handling equipment as needed.



Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Lifting up to 50 lbs. While performing the duties of this position, the TEAM Member is frequently required to talk or listen to fellow TEAM Members. Using both hands for simple grasping/torqueing, firm grasping/torqueing and firm manipulation. Ability to use head and neck in static, frequent flexing/extension and frequent rotating positions. Ability to sit, stand and walk.


PPE as needed: (e.g. safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, standard work gloves, heat resistant gloves, chemical resistant gloves).



Expected Hours Of Work:

Monday through Friday with an estimated total of 40 hours per week. Schedule may fluctuate based on business needs with the potential of overtime.



Travel:

There is limited expected for this position



Relocation:

No relocation is expected for this position.



Required Education:

High school education or GED.



Preferred Experience:

Previous warehouse or manufacturing forklift experience required. Ability to use MRP or ERP software preferred. Forklift certification or license preferred or must be willing to achieve Northwire Forklift License within one (1) week.
