Job summary

Generac Power Systems in Wisconsin is seeking a Material Handler I to support assembly by picking warehouse parts and delivering them to production lines. You will work under supervision to meet safety, quality, CI and productivity goals in a fast-paced environment.

Shifts are 2:30pm–10:30pm, Monday–Friday, with overtime including Saturdays. The role requires 0–5 years of experience, basic PC skills, and the ability to work in a team, follow policies, and maintain accuracy in material

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years experience for Material Handler I; 1–3 years for II and 2–5 years for III.
• Basic reading, writing, and math.
• Ability to operate forklift or other materials transport equipment.
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle materials and pick warehouse parts for delivery to assembly areas.
• Collaborate with production to ensure efficient material flow and utilization.
• Follow safety, quality, and productivity standards; participate in CI initiatives.
• Maintain accurate material transactions in ERP and 5S standards.

Pay Rate: $20.85 per hour + $2.50 shift premium

Job Summary:

The Material Handler I will be responsible for all material handling needs, primarily picking warehouse parts and delivering them to assembly areas to ensure efficient production. Work closely with production lines to ensure full utilization of people, materials, and equipment to meet customer demand. The Material Handler will be required to achieve company standards for Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement (CI), and Productivity.

Material Handler I - Minimum Qualifications:

• 0-2 years of experience
• Follow and adhere to company policies
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to effectively work in a team environment
• Effective communication skills
• Basic PC knowledge
• Ability to identify and resolve basic problems
• Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math function
• High school diploma or equivalent

Material Handler II - Minimum qualifications:

• 1-3 years' experience
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills
• Intermediate PC knowledge
• Ability to identify and resolve intermediate problems
• Ability to operate all forklift or other equipment to transport materials
• Ability to enter/maintain/transact materials in company ERP program

Material Handler III - Minimum qualifications:

• 2 to 5 years' experience
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to operate all forklift or other equipment to transport materials
• Ability to learn and use problem solving tools in everyday work
• Previous experience coaching and training other employees
• Experience leading and forming teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience and ability to operate a forklift or other equipment to transport materials
• Ability to enter/maintain/transact materials in company ERP program

Essential Duties:

• Work under general supervision with well-defined tasks while following company procedures, processes, and policies.
• Participates in metric boards measuring Safety, Quality, CI, and Productivity and work is reviewed for accuracy.
• Complete and retain all required training
• May resolve problems with assistance from peers or supervisors depending on the level and complexity. Follows defined procedures and practices.
• Contacts are typically with immediate supervisor and other members of the team in the immediate organization.
• Participate in 5S programs that are based on visual control to determine if an area is normal or abnormal. If abnormal, fix the area immediately.
• Complete forklift daily per procedure
• Good attendance is expected per policy

Level of Independence:

Report to Materials Supervisor and will take direction from the Materials Leads.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
