Job summary

Dal-Tile Corp. in Dickson, TN is seeking an intermediate level Material Handler to stock, wrap, load and unload materials, and operate warehouse equipment. This role runs Monday-Friday from 4:30 PM to 1:00 AM, with possible overtime and occasional Saturday work.

You will perform picking, packing, cycle counts, and maintain a safe, organized facility while complying with safety procedures and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
• Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator required or certified to operate powered trucks.
• 1 year warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate powered industrial trucks to pick orders and move materials.
• Stock, wrap, and load/unload materials; assist with packing and shipments.

Dal-Tile is currently seeking an intermediate level Material Handler to join our TEAM! As a material handler we need someone that is experienced in stocking, checking, wrapping, and loading and unloading materials.

Hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 4:30PM - 1:00 AM, with possible overtime and Saturday work.

Job Duties:

Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and conveys orders to packing station or shipping area.

Major Function and Scope:

• Performs a variety of warehouse duties such as pull/assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy/completeness, inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor product, maintain displays (tools, caulk, etc.), move, store, and replenish material, and conduct daily cycle counts.
• Performs receiving duties such as receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, stock material, process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims.
• Operates sit-down forklift and order picker equipment.
• Maintains clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, restroom and general office maintenance, etc.
• Maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to Management.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Experience and Knowledge Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent experience; Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator
• 1-year previous warehouse experience preferred.

Competencies:

• Good oral and written communications skills. Good record keeping skills. Good listening skills. Accurate measurement capability.
• Ability to understand and speak basic English. Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner.
• Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
• The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance.
• The associate may lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.The aver number of picks per hour is 25 and the average weight is between 40-70 lbs with heavier picks (50-70 lbs) being 65% of the work shift and lighter weight items (20-40 lbs) being 35% of the work shift.
• Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
• The noise level is usually loud.
