Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons in the United States is seeking an on-site pressroom helper to remove, stack, and handle printed sheets and signatures. You will assist with make-ready tasks, quality checks, and material handling across the press area.

The role supports night shifts (7PM–7AM) with a $3.00 shift premium and a base pay of $18.72/hour, with potential overtime and benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, PTO and retirement plans. Training and safety standards apply.

Qualifications

• Able to stock, move, jog, arrange, unload, count and rotate items on/off printing press equipment.
• May require knowledge of operation of automatic counters and tabulate counts for jobs.
• Able to complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and labeling requirements.
• Knowledge of general warehouse layout, item codes, and storage areas.
• Skill with hand trucks, dollies, and basic tools for material handling.

Responsibilities

• Remove and stack printed sheets, folded signatures, labels from discharge unit.
• Review signatures for smearing, register issues, bad folds; notify the Pressroom.
• Remove folded signatures from web press and place on pallet or skid for removal.
• May adjust stacking mechanism on press according to paper dimensions.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, carts and trays.
• Conveys materials from storage to designated area using hand truck or dolly.
• Counts, weighs, and records units moved on production sheet.
• Attaches tags or labels to materials; marks information on containers.
• Stacks or assembles materials into bundles using banding machine.
• May use automated equipment or operate industrial truck to aid loading.
• Assist Press Crew with make-ready tasks (plates, cleaning).
• May perform in-process quality checks of printed materials.
• Assists in inventory control of raw materials, finished goods and dies.
• Assist Roll tender with installations; setup and teardown; washup/ink changes; lubrication.
• Maintain general press area cleanliness per 5S standards.
• Set up and operate sheeter; adjust stackers to fit formats.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Remove, flex, jog, and stack printed sheets, folded signatures, labels or other in-process product from discharge unit of printing press or adhesive coating equipment
• Review signatures for smearing, register issues, bad folds, etc. and notify the Pressroom
• Remove folded signatures from web press and place signatures on pallet or skid for removal to warehouse or binding areas
• May adjust stacking mechanism on press according to paper dimensions. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, carts and trays
• Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, or other device
• Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers
• Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together, using banding machine and clincher
• May use automated equipment and/or operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products
• May assist Press Crew with make‑ready of the equipment such as retrieving plates, hanging plates, recycling/storing plates etc.
• May perform in‑process quality checks of printed materials looking for blemishes, scratches or other print defects
• Assists in inventory control of raw materials finished goods and dies.
• Assist Roll tender with: plate and blanket installations; gluer set up and tear down; press washup/ink changes; press lubrication; web ups
• Maintain general appearance of surrounding press, which includes picking up paper and waste, wiping spills, and cleaning machine according to 5S standards.
• Performs limited compensation procedures, cut‑off, and side guide. * Set up and operate sheeter.
• Set up and adjust stackers to fit the format.
• Other job duties as assigned

Nights - 7PM-7AM / $3.00 Shift Premium

Pay Disclosure Statement: Rate of pay for this role at the noted location is $18.72 per hour. In addition to base pay, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call‑in, and standby pay. Qualifications

• Able to stock, move, jog, arrange, unload, count and rotate items on/off printing press equipment in accordance with operating instructions or under guidance of a press operator or supervisor
• May require knowledge of operation of automatic counters and tabulate counts for jobs
• Able to complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and the labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials
• Good knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification codes, basic warehouse procedures, and the storage areas in order to be able to place or pull paper stock, signatures and materials in accordance with standard procedures
• Good skill in the use of manual dollies, carts or hand trucks and hand tools used in material handling tasks such as hammers, pliers, strapping and stretch wrapping tools and equipment, tape fasteners, metal band sheers and related equipment
