IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC. in Sycamore, IL is hiring a Material Handler for 1st shift (7:00 am – 3:30 pm). You will perform varied warehouse tasks, operate powered industrial trucks, receive inventory, pack shipments, and ensure accuracy and safety in daily operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and 6 months of relevant experience are preferred. Familiarity with ERP/WMS and RF scanning is helpful.

Central Distribution Center Regular Full-Time Factory, Indirect Sycamore, IL, US

This is a FIRST SHIFT position, working 7:00 am - 3:30 pm in Sycamore, Illinois.

Responsibilities:

• Follow all safety procedures.
• Perform varied warehouse tasks under the regular direction of the Supervisor and/or lead person, including but not limited to:
  • Accurately processing customer orders into shipments utilizing bar-code
    equipment
  • Operating a powered industrial truck to move and store material as required
  • Loading and unloading trucks
  • Receive inventory and validate quantities against purchase orders
  • Stocking of shelves with material
  • Setup and run Print and Apply machinery
  • Generation of DOT required documentation, including the Bill of Lading
  • Packaging freight shipments to prevent product damage. This includes shrink wrap, banding, and proper carton stacking techniques.
• Perform routine computer data entry and queries.
• Follow all quality procedures and instructions.
• Use various tools and equipment, including, but not limited to, powered industrial trucks, hand trucks, tape machines, bar-code equipment.
• Maintain housekeeping in the work area.
• Other related duties as directed by management.
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential to teamwork, timely information exchange, and meeting productivity requirements.
• Safely operate various powered industrial trucks.
• Follow directions, both verbal and written, including multi-step directions for complex tasks.
• Read and follow job instructions, complete written forms, and effectively communicate with others.
• Use visual acuity and hand dexterity to handle parts, supplies, tools, and other related work materials.
• Use color and depth perception for selected tasks.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months of relevant experience is preferred but not required.
• OSHA approved powered industrial truck license is preferred; training provided.
• Experience navigating ERP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and RF scanning technology is preferred.

A satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may be considered.

Physical/Requirements:

• Continuously remain upright (typically standing) during a shift (8-10 hours) with frequent reaching, pulling, and bending.
• Frequently move about work area.
• Operate warehouse machinery as required.
• Positions self to move items at various heights, such as floor, countertop, shelves.
• Effectively communicate and exchange accurate information so that others will understand.
• Observe details at close range, such as documents, computer screens, tools, products, and machines.
• Move boxes through the facility weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally and boxes weighing up to 30 pounds frequently.
• Hot/cold temperatures based on seasonal variations.
• May be humidity, noise, odors, dust.
• Safety precautions are a must to minimize potential exposure to hazardous materials/loud noise/heat/cold/other when applicable.
• Overtime or on-call shifts may be required.
• The home department in this job posting is subject to change.

Compensation Disclosure:

The rate of pay for this position is $20.00/hour. This represents a good faith disclosure of compensation, which is the fixed starting rate for this position.
