Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation in Union City, PA is seeking a Material Handler to support assembly and machining operations by receiving, storing, staging, and moving materials. You will ensure timely supply to production, maintain inventory accuracy, and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities include packing, labeling, shipping, receiving, and data entry; maintaining 5S in storage areas and handling non-conforming material.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient computer skills; MSSV knowledge advantageous.
  • Ability to read and understand part numbers, location numbers, and related material documentation.
  • Ability to correctly complete shipping, WIP, inventory documentation.
  • Knowledge of component parts preferred.
  • Understand and comply with ISO procedures, safety requirements, standard work instructions, and company policies.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and good judgment when following procedures.
  • Ability to count accurately and maintain 95-100% inventory accuracy.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

  • Complete data entry, reports, and WIP releases accurately.
  • Maintain storage areas with daily 5S checks.
  • Handle non-conforming material and disposal per procedure.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and report issues.
  • Prioritize work based on production and assembly needs.
  • Follow safety procedures and company policies; work independently or as a team.
  • Maintain lift truck certifications.

Position Summary

Our Quick Coupling Division is looking for a Material Handler to support assembly and machining operations through receiving, storing, staging, and moving raw materials, subassemblies, and finished parts to support. This role ensures timely, accurate supply of components to production, maintains inventory accuracy, performs basic quality checks, and follows safety and handling procedures.

Parker's Quick Coupling Division is the largest manufacturer of quick couplings in the world. A quick coupling is used to provide a fast, make-or-break connection of fluid or gas transfer lines. Our plants provide critical equipment for many different industries including Agriculture, Construction, and Data Centers.

Responsibilities
  • Package, label, and handle parts properly to prevent damage and maintain product traceability.
  • Receive, stock, inventory, and deliver raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and other products to designated areas.
  • Transport materials throughout the facility to support production areas, including laser, staking, assembly cells, and shipping/receiving.
  • Pick, prepare, and ship products, including creating labels, preparing shipping documents, and coordinating shipments to vendors or other facilities.
  • Load and unload trucks and safely move materials using lift trucks, pallet trucks, hand trucks, tuggers, or other material-handling equipment.
  • Perform inventory activities such as spot counts, weight counting, carousel/push-back rack picking, and system transactions.
  • Receive materials physically and electronically, including UPS deliveries, raw stock, and product received through the mainframe system.
  • Identify parts, understand part numbers, and maintain knowledge of component parts, raw stock, and applicable material programs.
  • Complete required data entry, reports, work orders, WIP releases, labels, and related documentation accurately.
  • Monitor, maintain, and organize material storage areas, including daily 5S activities and steel storage system checks.
  • Identify, collect, store, and process non-conforming material, scrap, and disposal items according to procedure.
  • Perform routine maintenance of department equipment and report or troubleshoot receiving or material-handling issues.
  • Prioritize work based on production and assembly needs to help keep manufacturing cells operating efficiently.
  • Follow all safety procedures, standard work instructions, and company policies while using good judgment and attention to detail.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, supporting department needs and performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Team Leader.
  • Maintain certification and safe operation of lift trucks and other required material-handling equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to lift and move average weight material (1-50 lbs)
  • Occasional lifting of over 50 lbs with assistance.
