Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler for the 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 8:00am–5:00pm) at our North Carolina facility. You will move material and inventory, operate hand trucks and scanners, and help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse.

Strong teamwork and reliability are valued; prior warehouse experience is helpful but training is provided.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Basic math ability.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.
• 1 year of warehouse experience preferred.
• Able to work a flexible schedule and overtime if needed.

Responsibilities

• Move material and inventory throughout the facility.
• Use hand trucks, conveyors or other material handling equipment.
• Perform duties that may include packing, scanning, kitting or counting products.
• Verify orders, label products and use a handheld scanner.
• Adhere to the 7S program and maintain a clean environment.
• Work in a safe manner that protects you and your team members.
• Support operations to ensure timely deliveries.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Support operations by moving material and inventory throughout the facility
• Use hand trucks, conveyors or other material handling equipment
• Perform duties that may include packing, scanning, kitting or counting products
• Verify orders, label products and use a handheld scanner
• Adhere to the 7S program
• Maintain a clean environment at all times
• Work in a safe manner that protects you and your team members

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• To be at least 18 years of age
• The ability to do basic math calculations, with and without a calculator
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedural documents

It’d be great if you also have:

• 1 year of experience in a warehouse environment
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including possible overtime when needed
• Experience using a handheld scanner
• Positive attitude and the ability to work in a team to achieve goals and objectives

This job requires the ability to:

• Lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, sit or walk for prolonged periods of time
• Bend, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull
• Handle or manage tools or equipment
• Tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments
