Job summary

ATACO Steel Products Corporation in Cedarburg, Wisconsin is seeking a Material Handler to move material within the facility and support production, shipping, and receiving. The role requires forklift certification or the ability to obtain it, accurate counting, and hands-on inventory control.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with a 1st shift schedule (Mon- Thu, 4am-2pm) and responsibilities spanning material moves, inventory tracking, and coordination with production teams.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification or the ability to obtain it immediately.
• Ability to sort, count, and verify items received.
• Basic understanding of dock and warehouse procedures.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Move raw material and work-in-process material between production work centers, drop zones, and finished goods locations.
• Locate and organize materials within the facility.
• Perform cycle counting of inventory items.
• Utilize inventory management software to track and manage inventory movements.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and update inventory databases.
• Implement inventory control procedures to minimize shortages and overages.
• Load kitted jobs and remove completed jobs from weld cells/robots.
• Move completed weldments to shipping.
• Monitor laser/brake schedule for incoming components.
• Keep Weld Marketplace safe and clean.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Summary

We are searching for a Material Handler to join our team. This individual would be primarily responsible for moving material within our facility to keep production running smoothly and would work closely with the production team as well as shipping and receiving.

Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Regular Schedule:

1st shift: Monday- Thursday 4am - 2pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform material handling functions for plant and warehouse such as raw material and work-in-process material moves between production work centers, drop zones, and finished goods locations.
• Locate and organize materials within the facility.
• Complete cycle counting of inventory items.
• Utilize inventory management software to track and manage inventory movements.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and update inventory databases.
• Implement inventory control procedures to minimize shortages and overages.
• Develop standardized procedures for scanning inventory into a location.
• Picking/organizing orders for welding job.
• Kit jobs prior to last component arriving
• Keep incoming/outgoing components organized/identified
• Inventory control (counting parts)
• Load kitted jobs and remove completed jobs from weld cells/robots
• Move completed weldments to shipping
• Monitor laser/brake schedule for incoming components
• Keep Weld Marketplace safe and clean
• Monitor and warehouse approved incoming purchased components in QC
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
