Job summary

Olympic Steel is seeking a Material Handler to support production processes on the shop floor and in the warehouse. You will move WIP material, stage finished goods, load trucks, and help with raw material receiving and paperwork.

The role includes handling scrap, operating a forklift, and using handheld plasma and other warehouse tools. This is an on-site position in Bartlett, IL with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to use precision instruments.

Responsibilities

• Move work-in-progress material on the production floor.
• Stage finished goods and load trucks.
• Receive raw materials and prepare materials for use.

Job Description The material handler is responsible for all job tasks required to support production processes. The material handler is responsible for all job tasks required to support production processes. These activities may include movement of work-in-progress material on the production floor, finished goods staging, truck loading, raw material receiving and raw material and finished goods preparation and management. As the material handler you will be in charge of certain administrative work, as well as preparing paperwork for materials on the floor. As the Material Handler you will be responsible for handling the scrap parts, while operating a forklift, using handheld plasma, and other warehouse equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift experience not required but preferred.
• Proper use and care of precision instruments.
• Basic math skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to work under general supervision.
