Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking a Material Handler for a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift position. Duties include assisting operators, labeling and packaging goods, and recording weights in the system.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Operator during roll transfers, sheet breaks, screen changes, and changeovers.
• Band and label finished goods, scrap rolls, and gaylords.
• Package finished goods as per Work Order specifications.
• Record scrap and finished goods weights in the computer and on skid tags/roll labels.
• Ensure all skids and roll labels have correct information and placement.
• Stock lines with materials and ensure enough cores for shifts.
• Maintain clean production floors and safe aisle/walkway conditions.
• Load and unload trucks safely as required.
• Report safety or mechanical issues to Supervisor.
• Handover ongoing activities to the next shift and complete current work.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour

• 1st shift- Mon-Fri 7am-3pm $15
• 2nd shift-Mon- Fri 3pm-11pm $16
• 3rd shift- Mon-Fri 11pm-7am $17

Job Duties

Material Handler duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting the Operator during roll transfers, sheet breaks, screen changes, and changeovers
• Banding and labeling properly all finished goods, scrap rolls, and gaylords
• Packaging all finished goods as specified by the Work Order
• Accurately recording all scrap and finished goods weights into the computer and transferring that information to skid tags and roll labels.
• Ensuring that all skids sheets and roll labels have all the correct information on them, and are placed correctly on each roll or skid.
• Stocking up each line with the proper materials. This includes enough cores to make it past the first few hours of the oncoming shift and empty scrap boxes at each line.
• Cleaning the production floor. This includes ensuring the aisles and walkways are swept, pallets are stacked safely, and all garbage is emptied.
• Loading and unloading of trucks safely, as required.
• Ensure all issues are reported to the Supervisor, including safety and mechanical.
• Passdown all ongoing activities to the oncoming shift, and ensure current work is completed.
• Any other duty as assigned by your Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate both verbally and written effectively with coworkers and Supervisor.
• Must be able to work as a team and on their own to complete assigned tasks.
• Must be able to safely operate both forklifts and clamp trucks.
• Must be able to use a computer for data entry.

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. several times per shift.
• Able to stand/walk for >80% of their shift.
• Able to bend/crouch for >50% of their shift
