GTI Fabrication is seeking a Material Handler in New York to support receiving, shipping, and material movement across production areas. You will verify quantities, operate forklifts, and help keep processes flowing smoothly in a fast-paced environment.

GTI is a contract manufacturing partner supporting customers in renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, and industrial systems.

We fabricate custom designed, purpose-built enclosures and skids for our customers and perform mechanical and electrical integration in-house, delivering a true turn-key product to our customers. Preform a combination of tasks including but not limited to receiving, filling, shipping, and inspecting orders accurately and in a timely manner; efficiently and safely loads, unloads, and conveys materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Receives, locates, and transfers materials accurately and in a timely manner.
• Opens containers utilizing hand tools as needed; counts and weighs materials and records information.
• Identifies damaged materials and records material shortages.
• Loads and unloads materials onto and from a variety of containers including but not limited to trucks, conveyors, racks, pallets, and/or trays; utilizes appropriate tools to accomplish task.
• Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish task including but not limited to wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, and/or elevator.
• Assists machine operators as needed by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist.
• Stacks and assembles materials.
• Maintains a safe, clean working environment.
• Participates in quality improvement efforts.
• Operates forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• One to two years related experience or equivalent.
