Job summary

ASD is seeking a Material Handler in Mesa, AZ to load, unload, and convey materials within the plant, yard, or work site. You will perform a mix of tasks under supervision, including picking, kitting, and inventory control, supporting machine operators with lifting and material movement.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED, US citizenship, a valid driver's license, and experience with forklifts and box trucks. Shift: 5:00 am–3:30 pm, Monday–Thursday, 4/10 schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen and have a valid state driver's license.
• Experience lifting 30 lbs on a regular basis.
• Experience operating a box truck and forklift.

Responsibilities

• Loads, unloads, and conveys materials within or near plant, yard, or work site using hand tools and equipment.
• Picks and kits materials, locating, retrieving, and issuing them for production use.
• Assists in inventory integrity through cycle counts and recordkeeping.
• Ships and receives by loading/unloading materials and weighing/counting.
• Communicates with colleagues and follows direct supervision for routine tasks.

Material Handlers who loads, unloads, and conveys materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, and performs a combination of tasks under specific direction which may include shipping and/or receiving. Opens containers using hand tools; counts and weighs materials and records information. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, conveyors, and machines by hand; loads or unloads materials into or from trucks by hand. Conveys materials using wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, elevator, or other devices; stacks or assembles materials; aids machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist. Job Description: Loads, unloads, and convey materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, and performs a combination of tasks under specific directions.

Picking and Kitting, responsible for accurately and efficiently locating, retrieving and systemically issuing material for production use.

Assist in the management of inventory integrity through cycle count schedule adherence.

Conveys materials using, hand truck, forklift, or other devices; stacks or assembles materials; aids machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist.

Has considerable knowledge of the job, including a broad understanding of both general and detailed aspects

Works under direct supervision with instructions for routine tasks and detailed guidance for new or special activities

Performs varied but standardized duties and some more advanced functions

Resolves routine questions and problems; refers complex issues to higher levels

Errors can be detected and corrected but may cause moderate delays or customer dissatisfaction

Usually communicate with colleagues within the department and occasionally with outside contacts.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be a US Citizen

• Experience lifting 30 lbs. on a regular basis

• Experience working in a warehouse / stockroom environment for 1 year or more.
