Job summary

RRD in Minnesota is seeking a Bindery Materials Handler for a 12-hour day shift on a rotating schedule (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM). You will load, unload, and stack materials and prepare orders in a bindery/finishing environment.

This role offers a pay range of $19.00 to $24.00 per hour, plus overtime and shift differential where applicable, with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, and paid time off. All offers contingent on background check.

Qualifications

• Reads work orders or follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials or components.
• Basic knowledge of warehouse layout and stock handling procedures.
• Experience with manual dollies, hand trucks, strapping and related material handling tools.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and follow instructions to gather materials for production.
• Lay up, feed, or stack materials at equipment.
• Operate bindery/finishing equipment per instructions.
• Seal and label materials; complete packaging slips for tracking.
• Move materials using hand tools and equipment; assist in loading/unloading as needed.
• Ensure accurate counting and recording of materials moved on daily production sheets.

Job Description

• This position is for a 12-hour day shift rotating (7:00AM to 7:00PM). Schedule Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday

Requirements

• Reads work order or follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials or components
• Responsible for laying up, feeding or piling down materials at equipment
• Jog product off counter stacker and stack neatly on skid to assure good running in bindery or mailing department
• Separate signatures by hand based on customer specifications
• Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet
• Complete skid flags and packaging slips to ensure accurate tracking
• Install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers
• Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and band bundles together, using banding machine and clincher
• May occasionally operate automated equipment and/or industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products

Qualifications

• Able to feed, stock, move, jog, arrange, unload and rotate items on/off bindery and/or finishing equipment in accordance with operating instructions or under guidance of a bindery operator or supervisor
• Able to complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and the labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials
• Basic knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification codes, basic knowledge of warehouse procedures and familiarity with the storage areas in order to be able to place or pull paper stock, signatures and materials in accordance with standard procedures
• Basic skill in the use of manual dollies, carts or hand trucks and hand tools used in material handling tasks such as hammers, pliers, strapping and stretch wrapping tools and equipment, tape fasteners, metal band sheers and related equipment

Additional Information

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $19.00 to $24.00 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
