Job summary

NFI Industries in Woodridge, IL is seeking a Material Handler to move materials, load and unload freight, and support warehouse operations with accuracy and safety.

You will use hand trucks and RF scanners, pick and pack orders, label shipments, and contribute to inventory accuracy and housekeeping.

Base hourly pay is $19.5/hour, with a comprehensive benefits program including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, PTO, and Paid Parental Leave.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Moves materials manually or with hand truck within facility.
• Loads finished product onto pallets or hand trucks.
• Stacks skids or pallets in storage or staging areas.
• Loads and unloads freight safely and efficiently.
• Picks and packs customer orders and assembles merchandise for shipment.
• Attaches labels to shipments per requirements.
• Processes orders including picking, checking, sorting, consolidating, wrapping pallets, packing, loading and shipment confirmations.
• Verifies freight accuracy and checks for damage or infestation.
• Assists with physical inventories and cycle counts as needed.
• Uses RF scanning devices for inventory accuracy.
• Provides cleaning and sanitation, including sweeping and trash disposal.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area following safety standards.

Overview

The Material Handler is responsible for moving materials, supplies, and finished goods either manually or using a hand truck to designated locations within the facility or onto trucks. This role supports overall warehouse operations by ensuring products are handled safely, efficiently, and accurately. The Material Handler may also provide general housekeeping support to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs various material handling duties manually or using a hand truck within the facility
• Loads finished product onto pallets or hand trucks as required
• Stacks skids or pallets in assigned storage or staging areas
• Loads and unloads freight in an efficient, safe, and accurate manner
• Picks and packs customer orders, assembling various types of merchandise for shipment
• Applies labels to shipments according to company and customer requirements
• Processes orders including picking, checking, sorting, consolidating freight, wrapping pallets, packing, loading, and completing shipment confirmations
• Verifies freight accuracy and checks for damage or infestation
• Assists with physical inventories and cycle counts as needed
• Uses RF scanning devices to support accurate inventory management
• Provides cleaning and sanitation services as needed, including sweeping floors, cleaning office areas, and disposing of trash in designated containers or locations
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area by following housekeeping and safety standards
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the role and determined by management

We are excited to share the base hourly rate for this position is $19.5/HOUR. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, geographic location, when determining a starting rate of pay.
