Job summary

Ludlow Mfg Inc in Illinois is seeking a Material Kitter for 1st and 2nd shifts to accurately assemble kits of materials for production and shipment. You will verify kit contents, update inventory records, and coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure timely material flow.

The role requires a high school diploma, blueprint reading or metal fabrication experience, and English literacy; forklift experience and Spanish bilingual ability are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Requires high accuracy and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience reading blueprints or metal fabrication helpful.
  • Proficiency with ERP or inventory management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and/or components according to work orders or production schedules.
  • Verify kit contents for accuracy, completeness, and quality prior to release.
  • Update inventory records and report shortages, discrepancies, or damaged items.
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, or stock control activities.
  • Coordinate with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Stage materials for jobs to be processed in department (Welding).

Job description

1st Shift Mon - Thurs 5:00AM - 3:30pm, 2nd shift Mon - Thurs 3:30PM - 2:00AM

The Material Kitter is responsible for accurately picking, preparing kits of materials, components, or parts required for production, assembly, or shipment. This role ensures all kits meet quality and quantity requirements while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting efficient material flow throughout the shop.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Pick and or components according to work orders, or production schedules.
  • Verify kit contents for accuracy, completeness, and quality prior to release.
  • Update inventory records and report shortages, discrepancies, or damaged items.
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and other stock control activities.
  • Coordinate with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Stage materials for jobs to be processed in department (Welding)
Education and/or Experience

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Blueprint reading or Metal fabrication experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills ( ERP or inventory management software experience a plus)
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Forklift experience
  • Bilingual - Spanish

Preferred:

  • Bilingual - Spanish
  • Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or material handling preferred

Pay $17-$19 based on experience.
