Job summary

EIS is seeking a Material Handler in New York to ensure efficient storage, handling, and distribution of materials to meet production and shipping needs.

You will verify shipments, document discrepancies, and maintain inventory accuracy in our ERP system while adhering to safety standards. Collaboration with teams and adherence to schedules are critical for efficient job costing and timely production flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months of related warehouse experience.
• Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders or packing lists, and document discrepancies.
• Inspect materials for damages or defects and update records in the Epicor ERP system.
• Safely unload, transport, and organize materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
• Store materials according to inventory management procedures, ensuring proper rotation to prevent obsolescence.
• Operate material handling equipment responsibly, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
• Work closely with team members, supervisors, and other departments to prioritize material movement tasks and meet production schedules.
• Optimize warehouse layout and organization to improve efficiency.
• Allocate inventory to specific jobs accurately to support production schedules.
• Track and record inventory usage per job to ensure correct billing and job costing.

The Material Handler ensures the efficient management, storage, and distribution of materials within the warehouse to meet production and customer demands. This role involves handling incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and adhering to safety and quality standards to support seamless warehouse operations.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Material Receiving and Processing:

• Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders or packing lists, and document discrepancies.
• Inspect materials for damages or defects and update records in the Epicor ERP system.

Material Handling and Storage:

• Safely unload, transport, and organize materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
• Store materials according to inventory management procedures, ensuring proper rotation to prevent obsolescence.

Safety and Equipment Maintenance:

• Operate material handling equipment responsibly, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and promptly report any safety concerns.

Collaboration and Workflow Optimization:

• Work closely with team members, supervisors, and other departments to prioritize material movement tasks and meet production schedules.
• Optimize warehouse layout and organization to improve efficiency.
• Allocate inventory to specific jobs accurately to support production schedules.
• Track and record inventory usage per job to ensure correct billing and job costing.
