Job summary

Mativ in Middletown, DE is seeking a Material Handler for the Filtration Team to support material flow and inventory accuracy on the 1st shift (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., weekends included). You will move materials, operate forklifts, and ensure safe handling.

Responsibilities include recording movements in Syteline/WMS, labeling stored items, supporting Shipping/Receiving, and participating in 5S/PPI initiatives while maintaining clean work areas and meeting production demands.

Qualifications

• Forklift operation experience is required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel) and arithmetic.
• Strong communication with coworkers and supervisors.
• Problem-solving ability in varying conditions.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Move raw materials, finished goods, scrap, and equipment within the plant according to schedule.
• Operate forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
• Attach proper lifting attachments for safe handling.
• Load/unload materials using pallets and store them with labels.
• Record movements in Syteline/WMS using a barcode scanner.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and meet production demands.
• Assist Shipping/Receiving with loading/unloading trucks.
• Participate in 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas; perform housekeeping checks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Title

Material Handler (Filtration Team) – Middletown, DE

Shift

1st: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (includes weekends)

Responsibilities

• Follow schedule/instructions for moving raw materials, finished goods, scrap, equipment and miscellaneous materials within the plant.
• Operate a powered industrial forklift truck and other material handling equipment.
• Secure proper lifting attachments to forklift for safe material handling.
• Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading/moving materials and products.
• Drive company box truck between warehouse storage areas.
• Load and unload materials on pallets in/out of warehouse racks safely.
• Organize and store materials efficiently, attaching identifying labels.
• Record all materials moved and shipments in Syteline/WMS using a barcode scanner.
• Ensure production demands are met and inventory accuracy is maintained.
• Assist Shipping/Receiving department in loading/unloading trucks.
• Participate in Warehouse 5S and PPI initiatives and/or programs.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and vehicles; complete 5S/housekeeping shift checklists; support physical inventory count.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents, follow instructions, and plan work priorities.
• Good driving record; work independently with little supervision; ability to work overtime when required.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Internet, manufacturing software); perform arithmetic with whole numbers.
• Strong communication with coworkers and supervisors.
• Apply common sense to execute complex multi‑step instructions.
• Problem‑solving ability in non‑standardized situations with multiple variables.
• Prior experience operating powered industrial forklifts, electric pallet jacks, hoists, Hi‑Los, and other material handling equipment.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred

• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Prior forklift driving experience.
• Prior warehouse experience.

Physical Demands

Lift or move up to 50 pounds; regularly use hands and stand for long periods.
