Job summary

ITW GSE is seeking a Warehouse/Material Handler to ensure safe control and movement of materials, maintain a clean factory and proper storage, and support production lines with timely material delivery.

Responsibilities include unloading, inspecting shipments, labeling and routing materials, and assisting with shipping preparations. Candidates should meet forklift and safety requirements and be team players in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Forklift operator with valid license preferred; training available.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently.
  • Familiar with safety requirements and proactive about safety.
  • Attention to detail and comfort with industrial equipment.
  • Team player willing to help wherever needed.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and unloading materials from incoming vehicles.
  • Inspecting contents for damage and verifying against orders and invoices.
  • Labeling deliveries and placing them in designated areas; maintaining records.
  • Transporting materials within the facility and delivering to manufacturing lines.
  • Crating and preparing equipment for shipment when needed.
  • Removing excess material and keeping manufacturing areas clean and safe.

Job Description

Responsible for assuring safe / proper control and movement of material assuring uninterrupted production and a clean, well-organized factory and storage of materials.

  • Receiving
  • Unload materials from incoming vehicles
  • Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
  • Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.)
  • Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
  • Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
  • Once material is received in the system, take material to the proper designated areas in the cell or department and notify cell / department of material delivery.
  • Properly store material in designated areas. This may include composites, radiators, running gear, and trailers, etc.
  • Bring materials from these designated areas to the manufacturing lines as required assuring parts are on the line as needed.
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
  • Outgoing Equipment and Material
  • Transportation of finished equipment / materials to shipping / receiving dock as needed.
  • Crate and prepare equipment for shipment to customer. Use of saw, nail gun and other tools may be required for crating of equipment.
  • Learn shipping processes to fill in as needed.
  • Removal of Excess Material from Manufacturing Floor
  • Remove excess material from manufacturing areas (empty skids, etc.) and store/dispose of properly to maintain a clean, organized manufacturing area. Assure once empty skids are removed, area is clear of loose skid wood that may pose a safety hazard due to nails, etc.
  • Manage skids by neatly stacking in designated area and utilizing dumpster for skids that are not being recycled with vendors.
  • Remove and properly locate / dispose of material that is identified as scrap

  • Assure all material is handled properly and with care assuring no damage or safety issues.
  • Comply with all policies and guidelines.

  • Utilization of ITW Toolbox to assure continuous improvement and business objectives are realized.

Qualifying Requirements
  • Forklift – Skilled forklift operator with valid forklift operator’s license preferred. Will train if needed
  • Physical – Ability to lift 50 lbs. consistently
  • Safety – Familiar with all safety requirements and proactive to assure all safety precautions are taken – proactive to work with team to correct any identified safety issues before moving material
  • Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
  • Team player, willing and proactive attitude to help wherever needed
