Job summary

TekWissen Group is hiring a Material Handler for a 12-month temporary onsite assignment in Sunnyvale, CA. The role focuses on shipping, receiving, storage, and order fulfillment for finished goods and materials.

Responsibilities include picking/packing, receiving materials, ensuring documentation, operating distribution equipment, and adhering to ISO standards. Candidates should have 0–2 years in logistics and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, sort, store, and process items for storage or shipment per procedures and customer requirements.
• Receive materials and/or finished goods daily.
• Verify quality, type, and quantity of materials and ensure proper packing documentation.
• Safely operate distribution equipment as required.
• Comply with ISO standards for site Distribution (including docs and Quality Policy).
• Follow policies and procedures and meet schedules consistently.
• Operate powered industrial trucks and equipment at various heights.
• Navigate ERP systems, Outlook and shipping software to support daily operations.
• Work in a warehouse with varying temperatures (room, cold, freezer).
• Perform highly repetitive tasks and lift up to 25 lbs continuously; up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• May require local travel and flexible shift scheduling.

Summary

To provide shipping, receiving, storage and order fulfillment services for finished goods, inventory, materials, supplies, parts and equipment at the assigned facility(s). The position requires knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures, good communication and customer service skills, and the ability to understand and interpret team metrics.

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and correctly process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements while sustaining a high level of quality to ensure customers receive correct product and in the time requested.


• Receive materials and/or finished goods on a daily basis.


• Verify the quality, type and amount of materials received are correct and that the appropriate documentation is present, such as packing lists.


• Safely operate distribution equipment, as required.


• Satisfactorily complete training requirements and operate within all ISO standards pertaining to site Distribution including, but not limited to, Control of Documents and Quality Policy.


• Consistently and independently follow policies and procedures, instructions, and meet schedules.


• Operate powered industrial trucks and equipment at various heights.


• Navigate ERP systems, Outlook and shipping software to support daily operations.


• Work in a warehouse environment under various temperatures including room temperature (59 86 degrees F), cold-room (36-46 degrees F), and/or freezer-room (minus 4 23 degrees F).


• Perform work of a highly repetitive nature.


• Walk, stand, reach, and lift up to 25lbs on a continuous basis.


• Routinely push and pull up to 25lbs and regularly climb.


• May occasionally sit, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift up to 50lbs.


• May handle \"packaged\" hazardous materials.


• Be available to work any shift with advance notice of shift change.


• Be flexible to work varying schedules, hours, and overtime as needed.


• Occasional local travel may be required.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required.


• Minimum of 0-2 years related experience.


• Some experience in logistics with a life science company preferred.


• Good communication skills and customer service skills.


• Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures.


• Ability to understand and interpret team metrics.


• Ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice.


• Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position.
