Avantor is seeking a dependable Material Handler for our Sparks, NV facility. You will receive, move, store, pick, pack, and ship materials while maintaining inventory records and following OSHA safety requirements.

This full-time role uses SAP/WMS systems and involves operating forklifts and related equipment. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years in a warehouse, with forklift experience and safety certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive inbound shipments; unload, inspect, document shortages or discrepancies.
• Store and move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment.
• Pick and prepare orders with correct quantities and labels.
• Process outbound shipments and arrange carrier pickup.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and assist cycle counts.
• Enter data in SAP/WMS and related shipping software.
• Maintain clean, organized warehouses and enforce safety.
• Support additional duties as needed to ensure operations run smoothly.

The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Material Handler to support warehouse and production operations at our Sparks, Nevada facility. In this role, you will receive, move, store, pick, pack, and ship materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and following company and OSHA safety requirements. You will operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment to keep products and materials moving safely and efficiently.

This role will be a full-time position based out of Sparks, NV.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Forklift experience required; OSHA forklift and HAZMAT certifications preferred.

How You Will Thrive and Create an Impact

• Receive inbound shipments: Safely unload trucks, trailers, and containers; count and inspect products; compare shipments with manifests; and document shortages, damage, mis-shipments, or other discrepancies.
• Store and move materials: Transport products to designated storage, staging, production, or shipping areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, cherry pickers, or other approved equipment.
• Pick and prepare orders: Verify product numbers, quantities, lots, batches, and serial numbers; package, label, stencil, tag, band, bundle, wrap, overpack, and palletize orders as required.
• Process outbound shipments: Confirm quantities, labels, addresses, weights, and documentation; arrange carrier pickup; and safely load shipments into trucks, trailers, railcars, or containers.
• Maintain inventory accuracy: Keep accurate records, enter shipping and receiving data, process purchase-order receipts, support cycle counts and physical inventories, and ensure proper stock rotation.
• Use shipping systems: Enter required information in SAP / WMS inventory and shipping systems, UPS shipping software, and HAZMAT shipping software.
• Maintain products and equipment: Repack or re-box products, consolidate damaged goods, operate shrink-wrap equipment, charge forklift batteries, and separate usable and damaged pallets as needed.
• Support a safe, organized warehouse: Maintain clean equipment, docks, bays, trailers, and work areas; report security, health, or safety concerns promptly; and comply with company standards and OSHA requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support efficient department operations.

Physical and Work Requirement

This position requires regular use of material-handling equipment and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds using proper techniques. The successful candidate must be able to work safely and accurately in a fast-paced warehouse environment, manage competing deadlines, and perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
