Job summary

Pacer Group is seeking an experienced Material Handler to support warehouse and distribution operations in San Jose, CA. This contract role (12 months) is onsite with a first shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

The ideal candidate will handle inbound/outbound materials, use RF scanners, WMS/ERP systems, and SAP knowledge is a plus. Responsibilities include picking, packing, labeling, palletizing, loading/unloading, and maintaining inventory accuracy while following

• HS Diploma or GED or 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, and process customer orders accurately.
• Scan barcodes and label packages using RF scanners.
• Verify order accuracy and prepare shipments for dispatch.
• Follow SOPs and GDP.
• Build and re-palletize orders for shipment.
• Scan, organize, and prepare completed pallets.
• Assist with dock manifest activities and shipment preparation.
• Handle inbound and outbound shipments.
• Safely load and unload materials.
• Locate, retrieve, and replenish inventory.
• Use ERP/WMS systems to track material movement and storage.
• Assist with SAP functions and shipping documentation as needed.
• Operate MHE when certified.
• Inspect equipment and report issues.
• Follow warehouse safety procedures.
• Maintain clean, safe, organized work area.
• Cross-train in other warehouse functions.
• Support team members and daily operations.
• Maintain training records and documentation.
• Perform additional warehouse duties as needed.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Material Handler to support warehouse and distribution operations. The selected candidate will be responsible for handling inbound and outbound materials, including picking, packing, scanning, labeling, palletizing, loading, unloading, and maintaining inventory accuracy.

The role requires experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and RF scanners. Knowledge of SAP and shipping documentation is also beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

1. Picking, Packing & Order Processing

• Pick, pack, and process customer orders accurately.
• Scan barcodes and label packages using RF scanners.
• Verify order accuracy and prepare shipments for dispatch.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Build and re-palletize orders for shipment.
• Scan, organize, and prepare completed pallets.

3. Inventory & Material Movement

• Handle inbound and outbound shipments.
• Safely load and unload materials.
• Locate, retrieve, and replenish inventory.

4. Equipment & Safety

• Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) when properly certified.
• Inspect equipment and report damage or maintenance issues.
• Follow warehouse safety and security procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

5. Additional Responsibilities

• Cross-train in other warehouse functions.
• Support team members and assist with daily warehouse operations.
• Maintain required training records and documentation.
• Perform additional warehouse duties based on business needs.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, or 3 years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of warehouse or material handling experience preferred.
• Experience using RF scanners, WMS, or ERP systems.
• General knowledge of warehouse and distribution operations.
• Ability to read and understand shipping and distribution documents.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work with performance metrics and meet operational targets.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach frequently.
• Ability to perform frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling activities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs in certain warehouse areas.
• Comfortable working around moving mechanical equipment.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
